In June of 2010, we officially welcomed The Hope Garden to downtown Hailey.  By the end of our first growing season, the once-empy lot had contributed more than 1,200 pounds of fresh, organically grown vegetables, fruits and herbs to the hungry in our community.  We are honored to steward this inviting garden and community park and invite you to learn more.

2010 Accomplishments At A Glance:

• Offered Empowerment Services to more than 500 families helping to move them out of food insecurity.
• Provided an average oif 237 individuals with wholesome food weekly through the Mobile Food Bank
• Distributed 128 bags filled with nutritious meals wewekly to kids facing hunger over the weekends
• Accepted over 72,200 pounds of fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, and more through food donations
• Served nearly 6,000 free hot meals to kids through The Lunch Cnonection

Fundraising & Financials

2010 saw little relief in the need for food assistance in Blaine County.  Community support affects our balance sheet in many ways.  The efforts of over 100 volunteers each week enable us to offer a variety of healthy foods at an extremely low cost, essentially saving the organization over $95,000 in wages.  Thanks to our local grocers and their daily contributions of fresh foods, our partnership with The Idaho FoodBbank, and communi6ty-based donations, we distributed more than 206,000 pounds of food for pennies on the pound, saving over $264,000 off retail costs.  Generous grants from individuals, family foundations, and local foundations maed a tremendous impact on our ability to reach out to those in need.  Combined with the overall generosity of community members, we provided hope to over 1,200 children and adults during very challenging times.
