The Hunger Coalition relies on local, regional and statewide partnerships to ensure we have a variety of healthy fresh and non-perishable food to distribute to the hungry in our community through our Mobile Food Bank.
Atkinsons', Albertsons, and Main Street Market: Thanks to the generosity of our local Albertsons and Atkinsons' Markets and the new Main Street Market, we receive welcome daily donations of fresh produce, bread and other perishable goods. Volunteers on our Perishable Goods Team visit each market daily and bring boxes of bananas, bags of bread, and many other fantastic, fresh foods back to our Food Bank Warehouse.
The Idaho Foodbank: Through our relationship with The Idaho Foodbank, e can purchase thousands of pounds of essential food supplies at pennies on the dollar and make sure our Food Bank warehouse shelves are never empty. Helping food pantries across the state, The Idaho Foodbank is a vital partner in our fight against hunger.
The Idaho Food Bank Fund:
The Idaho Food Bank Fund benefits hunger relief agencies throughout Idaho. These agencies consist of emergency food pantries, community kitchens, emergency shelters and other hunger-related non profit organizations. Typically these agencies are small, budget-strained and mainly run by volunteers. Thousands of children, families, and senior citizens across Idaho depend on access to free emergency food.
The Idaho Food Bank Fund provides desperately needed financial support to help organizations and volunteers in their efforts to feed hungry Idahoans. Support the non-profit groups and volunteers helping feed hungry Idahoans AND feel good about filing your taxes this year. When you fill out your Idaho state tax form, take advantage of a new donation option to benefit the IDAHO FOOD BANK FUND.
Idaho's Bounty: A non-profit organization dedicated to supporting local farmers through an online food co-op. Idaho's Bounty strives to serve the growth and long-term health of farmers, ranchers, chefs and market gardeners by developing a sustainable network that supports the promotion and distribution of organic, all-natural, and fair trade food to our region. There is a strong connection between supporting local farmers and feeding hungry families. The Hunger Coalition works with Idaho's Bounty to provide fresh produce from these farmers to hungry families through our Mobile Food Bank.
The Idaho Community Foundation: Through donor-advised funds and member organizations, The Hunger Coalition is deeply grateful for their continuing partnership with The Idaho Community Foundation. Established in 1998, the ICF has contributed over $53 million to philanthropic projects across the state of Idaho. We are honored to have the support of the Wood River Women's Charitable Foundation, the Heart of Gold Fund, the Donald & Gretchen Fraser Fund, the Little Black Dress Club, and the Jim & Barbara Cimino Fund.
Community Partners: We work closely with countless local and regional agencies, organizations, and community service groups to bring vital assistance and empowerment to those in need in Blaine County. These organizations are here to bring relief and hope, too.

Paws for Hunger
The Goal: Offer health and happiness to owners of dogs & cats in our community who are facing hunger and food insecurity by providing pet food free of charge.
The Reason: Pets face hunger, too. In times of financial difficulty, some families must choose beterrn feeding themselves or their pet.
The Program: The Animal Shelter raises funds through donations to purchase large quantities of dog & cat food at a discounted price. The food is distributed through our Client Services team at the Food Bank to individuals and families whose situation requires help.
In 2010, we handed out 379 bags of dog & cat food for hungry pets!
