Pronouns: She/Her
What’s your role/what do you do @ THC?
As a Community Engagement Coordinator at the Hunger Coalition, my role is to be a supportive resource for community members who may need additional assistance. My role is centered on listening without judgment, offering guidance, and walking alongside people as they navigate challenges. Whether that means helping someone connect with food support, linking them with other organizations, or simply being someone they can talk to, I’m here to assist in whatever way I can.
Finish one of these sentences: Community is… or Good food is….
Good food is a homemade meal, cooked with love and shared while surrounded by family.
What do you love most about our community?
What I love most about this community is the way people truly care for one another. I grew up here in the Valley, moved away for a while, and always knew in my heart that if I ever had the chance, this is where I wanted to come back to. There’s something really special about being here. I love walking by the river after a rain, taking in that fresh, earthy smell and just feeling grounded. I love that you can drive 45 minutes out of town and suddenly be surrounded by so much green that it feels like you’ve traveled miles away from everything. I love how close the mountains are and how they always feel like home.
But more than anything, I love how this Valley shows up for each other. When there’s a need, people step in without hesitation. And something as simple as getting a wave or a smile from someone while riding my bike on the path reminds me just how connected we all are.
As a kid, what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
As a kid, I was absolutely convinced I was going to be a professional figure skater who illustrated children’s books in the mornings and then rushed off to perform in glittery ice shows at night. Very busy. Very famous. Very sparkly.
